When I was 18, I went to Pakistan for a few months to see where I came from and to learn about my heritage, culture, and most importantly, food. Pakistani people cook with a lot of spices and meat. I never really liked spicy food until I visited the ever famous "Food Street" in Pakistan. I learned a lot from my grandmother, aunts, and cousins while I was over there but, always in the back of my mind, was my mother's "style" of cooking. (And usually compared everything I ate to my mother's cooking).
After getting married to the most amazing guy in the entire world (Hey! I'm a little biased), and having a kitchen and home of my very own, I realized that really do LOVE to cook. And thankfully, he loves encouraging me to try making new things and branching out. (Plus, he loves to eat, which is always a plus!)
I love cooking for a house full of our friends and family. There came a time where we would have "Wednesday Dinners" - All of our friends would come over to our apt and we would all have a great time over (As I would like to think) great food. Sadly, things happened and we don't have much time to do Wednesday dinners anymore...let alone breathe.
But, after a little change of scenery and new beginnings, I'm starting to explore recipes, and making more time to spend in the kitchen.
I started this blog to share my recipes & ideas with my friends, family, and anyone else who wants to join in on the fun!
I try to cook everyday so I will also try to write everyday with you guys.
